Frances  Gérard  was born in 1955 in France .  Carmaux .

He presently lives and works in Paris  .

His painting research is essentially based on the various expressive alternatives

Of china ink using a very personal technique .

Altough taking his inspiration mainly from reality   (  landscapes , figures ,  objects  )

Frances gérard do nor limit to it , reducing to the essential the naturalistic and descriptive

Aspects ,with a tendency to abstract .

(  sky – land  .   horizontal – vertical .   primary colors   -    geometrical work  -

external reality an interieur world . )

Personal technique and artist concept

My tool is the chinese brush and my canvas is the paper .

Three fluids – mixing –  on the brush -

Oil – ink – water –

Ink and water : fusion

Oil and ink : opposition

Water : mediation

My works took a direction that resulted in artwork toward a new language –

My work express painting the freedom to do art and the own art –

The masters gave me impulse , influenced my work by the grandiosity of
