Simone Sbaraglia has been involved with photography for over 15 years, while building a parallel career as a research scientist. A native of Italy, Simone holds a PhD in Mathematics from University of Rome and has worked in some of the most prestigious research centers in Italy and in the U.S. His work as a researcher has allowed him to travel extensively and pursue his passion for photography. His pictures highlight the harmony and uniqueness of our planet and serve as a reminder of our duty toward the future generations.

Artist’s statement: 

The title of this submission is "American Beauty". My work aims at highlighting the beauty of the planet we live in, in the hope that we will be able to better preserve it for the future generations. In this submission I have chosen a selection of portraits of American wild animals, to emphasize the importance of protecting the wild areas that contribute so much to the beauty and uniqueness of America.
