translation of this calligraphy by Pu Ji in the early 90s.
The verses are a close description of this area of
Unionville, where Frederick Varley, one of the members of
the respectable "Group of Seven" painters of
Canada, lived and
painted during the later part of his life. However, Pu
Ji had never been to Unionville or visited Canada.
