Gabrielle Horvath has been an artist in
several mediums throughout her twenty five year career. A mother,
grandmother and full time artist, she has worked, studied and taught
pottery, sculpture and mold making throughout the United States and
Canada.
Her humble beginnings in Hungary with only a
mother figure, she immigrated to Ontario Canada in 1956 as a young
child.
Love of realistic figurative sculpture and
insatiable curiosity, challenges her to constantly experiment with new
formats. Gabrielle takes a very “hands on” approach to every aspect of
her work.
Artist Statement
Creating art, especially pouring the liquid
bronze in the foundry, is the most freeing experience I have had. I find
the human form to be truly inspiring and finding new ways of emulating
our human existence connects me to generations of artists from the past.
The surface of each bronze rivets your attention and each viewing is a
new discovery of pattern and color. Future incorporation of glass and
aluminum will be the next challenge.
