Heather graduated from Stanford University in 2002 with a B.A. in Philosophy. She currently works as a dressage horse trainer and combines her busy training and competition schedule with her artistic interests.  She is working on finishing her Certificate in Fine Arts from the Pacific Northwest College of Art.  

Artist's statement:

My current paintings explore the emotions evoked by our surroundings specifically the sky, the land, and the sea.  On one hand, I am inspired by the intensity, power, and drama latent in our environment. However, I am also experimenting with more subtle and ambiguous emotional reactions to the landscape a sense of loneliness that is simultaneously despondent and liberating. I work in both oils and acrylics.
